Did Jesus Really Say … “Finished!”?
Mar 31st
In our series ‘Did Jesus Really Say…’ we reach Passion Week and contemplate one of the phrases Jesus used on the cross – ‘It is Finished’. What did he mean by this? Did he mean it was all over and his mission had failed? Or could he have meant something else? Like many people, I have come to love old VW Campervans.
My wife and I have just bought one to restore…

Young People graduating from Worship Academy!!
Mar 15th
Hi all,
I got this from Sarah Hockley today….
I am writing to you to inform you of a great celebration coming up! You may have been aware but young people from your Church have been attending WYFC’s Worship Academy (working together in partnership with the local Church). They have been attending sessions for the last 6 weeks where they have been challenged to look at what worship is, different styles of worship and how to live a life of worship to God.
On the last session of this Worship Academy Course we are having a service of graduation and commissioning.
I would like to invite you and your church to come and join with us to celebrate and commission these young people back into Churches.
It is taking place at Greasby Methodist Church on Tuesday the 23rd March at 6.45pm (service at 7pm). There will be service of celebration and a time of fellowship after for young people, parents and Churches to join together.
If you have any questions or would like to speak to me please see the details on the information below.
Word of the Week … Justification
Mar 8th
Many people wonder whether their actions are justified. It’s a legal term actually and faith in Christ brings full justification. It can be understood, partially at least, by saying it’s “just-as-if-I’d never sinned”. That’s a really helpful way to remember what it means. Want to know more? … Justification More still? Why not contact me and ask me a question? dave.johno@jirehchurch.org.uk
Love Your Neighbourhood Week
Mar 8th
Monday to Friday, 10-5, 26-30th April 2010 we are joining with several agencies to run a ‘Love Your Neighbourhood’ week in Brackenwood. We will have a gazebo up for the week and have a stand there. Agencies such as the Library, Wirral Partnership Homes, Voluntary Services, Health Workers, Play Rangers and the Police will all be there offering services directly to people during that week. We’re also hoping to find residents who are prepared to help each other on an ongoing basis. If you feel you can help out in any way, or would like to know more, please contact me. Thanks!!

Word of the Week … Sanctification
Mar 8th
What is sanctification? It’s derived from the Latin word ‘Sanctificare’ sancti=holy; ficare=to be made. To be made holy. Or set apart for holy use. Want to know a little more? …Sanctification … still want to know more? Why not email me your question … dave.johno@jirehchurch.org.uk
Here’s a couple of books I’d recommend on this subject … and many other subjects too!!
